OTHER INVOLVEMENT
Throughout the year, the Perry Township Rotarians are dedicated to meeting the needs of our community through various projects. Here are some examples of the initiatives we participate in:
Canned Food Drives
We organize canned food drives to help stock the Perry Helping Perry food pantry, supporting families in need with essential groceries.
Car Cruise-in
Join us for the Perry Township Car Cruise-in, featuring a variety of cars, music, food trucks, and prizes. This fun community event is a great way to connect with fellow car enthusiasts.
Christmas Project
Each year, Perry Rotary "adopts" a local family, providing Christmas gifts and supplies to help them celebrate a joyful holiday season.
Coats for Perry
Perry Township Rotary buys new winter coats for local children, which are distributed by Perry Helping Perry to ensure kids stay warm throughout the winter.
Domestic Violence Shelter
Perry Township Rotary frequently collects donations to support the local domestic violence shelter, providing essential items for those in need.
Easter Egg Hunt
We host a community Easter Egg Hunt with activities for kids of all ages, including free breakfast, bounce houses, and egg hunts by age group.
Oktoberfest Parade and Festival
The Perry Township Rotary Parade and Festival includes a community parade and various festivities, including food, vendors, crafts, and entertainment for all ages.
Potatoes for Perry
With monetary donations from Perry Rotarians, we purchase 150 pounds of bulk potatoes. These potatoes are then divided into family-size bags and provided to Perry Helping Perry for distribution to families in need during Thanksgiving.
RYLA
The Rotary Youth Leadership Assembly is a weekend retreat for high school juniors to develop and enhance their leadership skills. Perry Rotary sponsors two students from each high school in Perry Township to attend this transformative experience.
Wreaths Across America
In partnership with Calvary Cemetery, our club, along with many volunteers, places wreaths on veterans' gravesites each December. In 2021, we placed 2,500 wreaths thanks to the generosity of our community members who purchased them.
These are just a few of the ways Perry Township Rotary works to support our community, and we are always looking for more opportunities to make a positive impact.
